KARACHI: 300 posts of doctors vacant

Published February 23, 2006

KARACHI, Feb 22: The Sindh health department would encourage qualified doctors belonging to rural areas of the province to assume their professional responsibilities against posts lying vacant in public sector rural health care facilities across the province.

This was stated by Sindh Health Minister Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani while taking to newsmen at a press conference here on Wednesday.

He said there were more than 300 posts for doctors had been lying vacant in rural sector hospitals and health units and a proposal is under review to assign duties to doctors on rotational basis at these units.

This, he said was extremely important as public could not be made to suffer due to non-availability of qualified health care professionals.—APP
