Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent Anas al-Sharif said “bodies are everywhere” as the journalist headed to the site of the Israeli attack on Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip.

“Victims are just lying on the ground. Many have been killed, bodies ripped apart. Even animals aren’t spared,” he said as residents carried the wounded while others placed bodies on donkey carts.

Al-Sharif said the “scale of the destruction is massive” and bodies are lying everywhere, adding that the site is “beyond description”.

He said that the area, which was “purposely bombed”, was a residential area with only civilians where people were venturing out to try and find food.

“Where are those who speak of human rights? Look at all these civilians killed in a residential area,” he added.
