The Israeli army has said it is briefly suspending operations in the al-Janina neighbourhood in Gaza’s Rafah for “humanitarian purposes”.

The tactical pause is taking place from 10am to 2pm (08:00 GMT to 12:00 GMT), Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said on X.

However, the spokesman warned that civilians should not move towards the “Salah al-Din Axis” in the north and east of Khan Younis due to heavy fighting.

He said that civilians could use the “bypass axis” west of Khan Younis for humanitarian purposes.
