Jamaat-i-Islami Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has urged caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar to “represent the oppressed of Gaza”, alleging him of attempting to create a path for Israel’s recognition.

Addressing the media in Karachi today, he claimed that the premier has “consistently been working on agenda to somehow create a soft corner for Israel’s recognition”.

Vehemently rejecting the idea, Naeem said it was neither the view of Pakistan’s founders nor of the nation.

“On such an occasion when our [Palestinian] children are being martyred, then Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar sahib, on whose agenda are you trying to create a path for its recognition?” he asked.

“Do not perform this duty of an American lobby or an Israeli lobby. Do not play with fire,” the JI leader said, demanding the premier to offer a clarification on his alleged stance.
