DERA MURAD JAM­ALI: Two Levies personnel were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Sibi district on Friday.

Officials said a vehicle carrying Levies personnel collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction in the Bala Nari area of Sibi on Quetta-Sukkur highway, leaving two personnel dead and injuring two others.

The personnel killed in the accident were identified as Barkat Mehsar and Zahid Talpur.

Soon after receiving inf­ormation about the accid­e­­nt, the Levies personnel ru­­­­shed to the area and shi­f­ted the bodies and the inj­ured to Sibi district hospital.

In another accident which took place on Quet­ta-Sibi Highway near Pir-Ghaib area of Bolan district, eight people were injured when a passenger wagon was hit by a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction.

The injured were taken to Sibi district hospital where the condition of four was stated to be serious.

Rocket attack

Armed men fired five rockets at Abdul Rasheed Jakhrani village of Jaffar­abad district on Friday. Levies officials said one woman was injured as splinters of one of the rockets hit her. She was shifted to Dera Allahyar hospital. Some houses were partially damaged, the officials said, adding that an operation has been launched in the area to arrest the attackers.
