TOBA TEK SINGH: A constable from Faisalabad Elite Force was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly harassing a 16-year-old girl student from a religious seminary.

Faisalabad SSP Operations Dr Muhammad Rizwan told reporters that a complaint had been received from girl’s maternal uncle Sajjad Ahmad of the Dijkot area, Chak 531-RB, against the suspect.

He said the suspect had also been suspended, and Iqbal division SP Usman Munir Saifi had been directed to conduct an inquiry against him.

The Dijkot police registered a case against the constable under sections 509 and 354 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

In the complaint, Sajjad informed that his niece learned the Quran at Madrassa Ghausia Rizvia Rushdul Eiman located on Tandlianwala Road in Dijkot.

He added that for the last several days, the suspect had been pestering the girl, forcing her to have an affair with him.

The complainant said that on Tuesday, when she stepped down from her van and was on her way to the seminary, the suspect caught her and repeated his demand with a threat to murder her. She raised an alarm, and scores of people gathered there, rescuing her.

According to Faisalabad’s Civil Lines police, when he was standing near Allied Hospital, both bandits snatched his mobile phone worth more than Rs100,000 and Rs8,000. When he resisted, they opened fire on him, wounding him, and he was admitted to Allied Hospital.

ACCIDENT: A woman died, and her minor son and her brother were injured after a mini-truck hit their motorcycle in Faisalabad on Tuesday at Satiana near Gogera branch canal bridge.

The deceased was identified as Amina Bibi, while her two-year-old injured son, Shoaib, and her brother Manzoor Ahmad, were shifted to the Satiana Rural Health Centre.
