ISLAMABAD, Feb 19: A four-member delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by Social Development Minister Dr Fatima Mohammad Al-Balooshi, will arrive here on Monday.

During visit, the delegation is likely to call on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi (in Lahore).

Federal Minster for Social Welfare and Special Education Zobaida Jalal would receive the delegation at Islamabad airport and also hold a meeting at her ministry. During the meeting, both the sides would discuss matter related to the welfare and rehabilitation of deserving and disabled people.

Senior officials of the ministry of social welfare and special education would brief the delegation about the policy, framework and institutions which deal with social-economic projects designed to help poor, deserving and lower-income groups.

Presentation on the national plan for action for barrier-free society would be given to the Bahrain delegation.

The delegation would also be informed about the steps taken by the ministry of social welfare and special education in the aftermath of the Oct 8 earthquake for the welfare and rehabilitation of orphans, disabled, abandoned and destitute women and children. It was learnt that the government of Bahrain had asked Pakistan to provide training facilities to their officials in areas like education, pottery, embroidery, theatre for handicap and wood carving.—APP
