LARKANA, Feb 19: A book “Vision and Views” written by Sindh additional advocate-general Mohammad Bachal Tunio was launched at a ceremony held at the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, University of Sindh Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, who was the chief guest, stressed the importance of education and acquiring knowledge.

He urged students to seek knowledge because it would change their lot. He said that in furtherance of this objective, the Sindh university was introducing subjects which had relevance to the society. He said it was equally important to be in touch with the nature.

He also underlined the importance of justice in a society and added that people in Sindh were deprived of justice. He said that even the people who had created the country were deprived of justice as the vision of the father of the nation had not been incorporated in affairs of Pakistan.

Mr Tunio said Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah had laid great stress on maintaining law and order and protecting life, honour and property of citizens as the primary duty of a government.

He observed that Larkana was the citadel of civilization and it had produced great poets, political leaders, educationists and literary figures.

He also spoke against sectarianism, favouritism, nepotism, corruption and jobbery.

District High Court Bar Association president Abdul Razzak Soomro said the work of the author reflected dedicated efforts spread over years.

Cadet College principal Prof S. M. Yousuf, Muslim Shamim, Zia Ahmad Jalbani and Prof Sikandar Ali Abbasi also spoke on the occasion.
