TAXILA: A court in Attock on Saturday sentenced two convicts to death for shooting to death two persons over enmity in Pindigheb police area in 2021.
According to the FIR registered under section 302, 109,148,149 and 341 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) at Pindigheb police station, the accused Liaquat Ali and Saeed Ahmed, both residents of Dandi village, shot dead Basheer Ahmed and Feroze Khan in village Ikhlas on Mathial Road over a marriage dispute between the two groups for the last eight years.
Later, police arrested both the accused and recovered the weapons utilised in the murder and attempted murder case.
The prosecution produced substantial evidence against the accused which established involvement of Liaquat and Saeed in the cold blooded murder of Basheer Ahmed and Feroze Khan and subsequently sent the convict to gallows. The convict was also ordered to pay Rs 0. 3 million as damages.
Four suspects arrested
Four suspects were nabbed by Hassanabdal police in two cases of murder and abduction on Saturday.
As per police sources, two suspects were abducted an Afghan shopkeeper and snatched R200,000, and killed him and later threw his body in a drain in the Jallo area near the Burhan motorway interchange within the limits of Hassanabdal police station on Aug 7.
The same police arrested two suspects for abducting two teenage girls.
Riasat Azad, a native of Bhoi Gar village, filed an application with the police alleging that his daughter and his niece were abducted when they were returning from the seminary after attending their lesson.
The police spokesman said that through human and digital intelligence, police arrested the abductors and recovered the abducted girls.
