Progressive members of the US Congress gathered with activists, actors and artists outside the White House to call for a ceasefire in Gaza, reports Al Jazeera.

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and several colleagues joined well-known actors Cynthia Nixon, Denee Benton and others to take turns reading the names of some of the more than 15,000 Palestinians killed in Israel’s aggression against Gaza.

Tlaib and her colleagues warned that the conflict in Gaza must end, and the current pause in fighting must become permanent.
