LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), Feb 18: The political administration has failed to locate the whereabouts of primary schoolboy Nauman and the principal of the Government Degree College Kohi, Sabir Shah.

The principal was abducted on Feb 11, 2006, while on the way to the college, but teenager Nauman kidnapped on Dec 7, 2005.

The administration has reportedly constituted a jirga of Shalobar elders to help recover Sabir Shah, as he was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from Shalobar area. The administration has so far rounded up at least 18 Shalobar tribesmen under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR).

The Shalobar elders, according to sources in Bara, have issued a notice to three outlaws Wakil Khan, Minat Khan and Gulmar to appear before the jirga for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of the principal.

It is also learnt that Wakil Khan, refusing to appear before the jirga, demanded the release of his brother who is in Bara lockup on charges of kidnappings and robberies.

The jirga has warned the three outlaws that if they failed to explain their position, their houses would be demolished in accordance with tribal traditions.

The jirga has also sought support of the Bara peace committee that took responsibility of providing security to government servants employed in Bara.

Reliable sources in Bara told Dawn that Nauman, a seventh class student of the Government Middle School Yarzamad Kalli, was in the illegal captivity of an outlaw, Yaghistan.

Nauman was abducted from Akkakhel area while on his way to the school with his brother Khaliqdad and father Shakeel Khan, who is a teacher in the same school.

Sources said Yaghistan’s brother was in Peshawar prison on charges of unlawful activities. Yaghistan is reportedly putting pressure on the family of the school teacher. Shakeel Khan’s younger brother Khalid Abbas is the superintendent of the prison.

It is also learnt that Yaghistan had earlier abducted Gorjeet Singh, a Sikh student, from Bara a year ago in his bid to secure the release of his brother. However, the authorities recovered the boy.
