NAROWAL: Police arrested 52 shopkeepers and sealed 108 business points for violating smog standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the last three days in Sialkot.

Sialkot Deputy Commissioner Shahmeer Iqbal said the district administration had taken strict legal action against those who violated the smog SOPs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

He said the special magistrates of the district administration had sealed 108 business points for violating the orders of the Punjab government while police had arrested 52 shopkeepers for violating smog SOPs.

He said the special magistrates had also collected Rs1m fine from those who caused pollution.

The DC declared that according to the instructions of the Punjab government, enforcement of smog SOPs would be ensured.
