Victory for State Bank

LAHORE, Feb 17: Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Lahore entered the final of the 2nd-All Pakistan State Bank Governor Cup cricket on Friday. The Co-operative Bank beat NBP, Lahore by six wickets at the Faisal Town sports complex ground.

Batting first NBP were all out for 129 due to fine bowling by Ziaur Rehman 4-22.

The winners achieved the target scoring 131 for four in 19 overs as Azhar Jamil scored 57 and Munir Shah remained unbeaten for 38.

State Bank Lahore defeated Union Bank by 20 runs at the Cricket Centre ground.

Set to score 139, Union Bank were bundled out for 119 runs due to deadly bowling by Ali Akhtar 4-18, including a hat trick. Mohammad Riaz captured three wickets for 16.

For the winners, Mohammad Iqbal was the top scorer with 44.

Shabbir took three wickets of the winners for 34 runs.
