Abdullah Dada snatches match-winner

KARACHI, Feb 17: Abdullah Dada’s match-winner gave Baloch Mohammadan Malir a 1-0 victory over Sindh Muslim Gizri in the KASB Premier League soccer at Sixteen Star Football ground on Thursday.

Although the game started at a brisk pace, it lost its tempo later as both teams battled to break the ice in the first half.

Sindh Muslim strikers Asif Bukhsh, Sohail Barohi and Kashif Baloch made several inroads but failed as Baloch Mohammadan goalkeeper Abdul Lateef produced half a dozen saves.   Midfielder Abdullah eventually broke the deadlock when he received a through pass from Nasim Akhtar and curled in a 30-metre shot into the goal in the 41st minute.

In another match of the day, Abdul Rahman’s equaliser helped Al-Shahbaz force a 2-2 draw with Young Ansari.

Young Ansari moved ahead in the 10th minute when striker Hameed Afridi slotted home following a move by Umar Nawab and Bakht Zaman.

Rahman equalised in the 20th minute after a right side cross from Mohammad Hameed. Hameed Afridi grabbed the second for Young Ansari in the 31st minute when he capitalised on a perfect cross from Umar.

Rahman netted his second to put the game on an even keel in the 60th minute.

Young Ansari lodged a written protest against Al-Shabaz’s striker Akhtar who was playing while posing himself as Syed Amin.
