The United States hopes that the pause in fighting will also be observed by the Lebanese group Hezbollah and Israeli forces in northern Israel, Reuters has quoted a senior US administration official as saying.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Israel said it was “committed to not attack nor arrest anyone in all parts of Gaza during the truce period”, Reuters said.
