Tamara Alrifai of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees has said the picture of premature babies evacuated from Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital yesterday will remain “one of the most compelling images during this conflict”.
At least 31 babies were safely evacuated from Gaza yesterday and taken to Egypt, where they are being given necessary treatment. The lives of these babies were under grave risk after the Al-Shifa Hospital was rendered out of service during an Israeli raid at the facility.
