German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has rejected calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, stating that it would “mean Israel would no longer be able to defend itself”.
In an interview with DW, she said that once the current conflict is over, the international community should take responsibility for the stability of the Gaza Strip within the context of a two-state solution.
“In order to ensure security, we need international responsibility,” Baerbock said.
