The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics has estimated the population of Gaza City and the North Gaza Governorate to be 807,000, Al Jazeera reports.
Before the war, they said, the population of these two areas was 1.2 million, meaning about one-third of those who lived there have been displaced by the war.
Israeli military operations continue in Gaza City and North Gaza. Heavy fighting and Israeli army air strikes are constant, posing grave risk to the civilians who still live in those areas.
