Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has called for an international investigation into Israel’s claims that Palestinian groups are using Al-Shifa Medical Complex and other Gaza Strip hospitals for military purposes.

The absence of an unbiased international entity’s involvement in the Israeli military’s incursions and inspections of Al-Shifa Medical Complex and other hospitals in the Strip casts doubt on Israel’s narrative.

Euro-Med Monitor stressed the necessity for Israel to present substantial evidence beyond mere weaponry to justify its assaults on Gaza’s hospitals, endangering the lives of the sick and injured civilians.

The rights group, headquartered in Geneva, underscored that there exists no justification for Israel’s targeting of hospitals and disruption of their crucial functions, imperiling hundreds of civilians reliant on urgent medical aid, especially during the times of conflict, potentially constitutes as war crimes and violations of the Geneva Conventions.
