TOURISM IN BALOCHISTAN: The province of Balochistan is blessed with picturesque mountains, natural ponds and a vibrant culture. Thousands of people visit various scenic places during the summers. However, many more still do not know about them. If the natural sites are highlighted properly and profe- ssionally, they can attract hundreds of thousands of more visitors every year, doing wonders to the locals and the local economy. The government should improve infrastructure and establish restaurants and hotels in all the relevant areas. This will promote tourism and provide local people an opportunity to survive and earn a decent living which they deserve.

ROAD IN A SHAMBLES: If we were a kingdom, the king would declare travelling on Sakran Road in the Hub district a punishment for hardcore criminals. Yes, the road is in such a bad condition. The residents of Hub, however, undergo this punishment on a daily basis. In fact, there are many who suffer multiple times every day because they have been cursed to using the Sakran Road more than once every day. Students leave their homes in tidy uniforms, but when they reach their schools, they are covered in dust from head to toe. Recently, the local authorities started some sort of repair work, which has only added to the dust and dirt circulating in the air. The pace at which heavy machinery is being operated suggests we are in for the long haul. Can this work be expedited? Please?

SAFETY CONCERNS: Recently, I travelled to my native village Wahid Baksh Khoso, which is located approximately 20km north of Johi city in Dadu district. I and my son skidded off the road while trying to negotiate a pothole. The road leading to the village from Johi is in a bad condition since no repair work has been carried out for ages. The authorities concerned should repair the road immediately because this is a matter of commuters’ safety.
