The Israeli airforce has, in the last hour or so, said it has carried out a number of attacks against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon itself, Al Jazeera reports.
This is in response to what has been going on there, particularly over the last 48 hours or so, Al Jazeera said.
Lloyd Austin, who is the US defence secretary, speaking in Seoul, South Korea, says this is just “tit for tat” between Israel and Hezbollah, and he is trying to make sure that the tensions in the area are diffused.
