KHAIRPUR, Feb 15: Thirty-five prisoners of the Khairpur Central Jail have been booked for attacking and injuring jail staff. Jail chief warden Dilawar Hussain lodged the case with the A-section police on Tuesday night under sections 353, 337-A1, F1, 147 and 149, PPC, against the prisoners.

He also accused the prisoners of breaking windows and doors and climbing on roofs of barracks on Monday.

The nominated prisoners, who are under trial in different cases, included Abdul Majeed Chandio, Baqir Junejo, Shahzado, Mohammad Yasin, Liaquat, Deedar Khaskheli, Abdul Wahab, Suleman, Pervez Narejo, Ghulam Shabbir, Ali Gohar and Atta Mohammad.

HESCO: Hesco line superintendent-II Mehboob Rehman Jamro has lodged an FIR against 27 people, including women, at the Thari Mirwah police station for allegedly attacking the company staff on Tuesday night.

Those nominated in the FIR included Ghulam Sarwar, Mehmood Haroon, Mohammad Bachal, Baqar Mohammad, Rahmatullah, Allah Wadhayo, Mohammad Hassan, Khan Mohammad, Shafi Mohammad and Ayaz Ali.

Meanwhile, residents of the Nirwaro village held a protest demonstration on Wednesday.

They blamed Hesco officials for attacking villagers and torturing women and children.
