French President Emmanuel Macron has said that Israel must stop bombing babies and women in Gaza.
In an exclusive interview with BBC at the Élysée Palace, he said there was “no justification” for the bombing, saying a ceasefire would benefit Israel.
“De facto, today civilians are bombed. De facto, there’s babies, there’s ladies, there’s old people are bombed and killed. There is no readon for that, no legitimacy.”
When asked if he was “disappointed” by other world leaders — including in the US and the UK — not joining his calls for a ceasefire, he replied: “I hope they will.”
