Three leading human rights organisations based in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip have filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court (ICC) calling for it to consider apartheid and genocide in its ongoing investigation of the situation in Palestine, Al Jazeera reports.

The lawsuit by Al Haq, Al Mezan and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights claims that Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to war crimes and calls for arrest warrants to be issued for Israeli officials, including President Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.
