PESHAWAR, Feb 14: The Inspector General of Police in the NWFP Muhammad Raffat Pasha on Tuesday instructed police officials to respond to public complaints and immediately register first-information reports.
“Keep close liaison with the general public and take prompt action as per the law for redressal of problems and complaints,” the inspector general told district police high-ups at a meeting held here.
The inspector general said that law and order would be maintained at all costs in Peshawar and elsewhere in the province. He directed the participants to expedite their efforts and work with more professional zeal and spirit for maintenance of peace and elimination of crimes from the society.
He told them to monitor the performance of police and review their post-Muharram duties, including security for the upcoming cricket match between Pakistan and India.
