125 illegal immigrants sent to Chaman amid crackdown

KARACHI: Over 100 more illegal Afghan immigrants were sent to the Chaman border crossing in Balochistan for repatriation to their country, officials said on Friday.

DIG-South Syed Asad Raza, who looked after two Afghan transit centers in Sultanabad, said that around 300 more foreigners were detained on Friday. They were brought to the transit center where after a proper verification by all relevant stakeholders.

He said a total of 125 individuals were sent to Chaman in five buses, escorted by police and the Federal Investigation Agency officials.

The DIG said they had adopted certain principles during the repatriation of foreigners as per policy of the government, including focusing on facilitation on a voluntary basis, humanitarian treatment of illegal foreigners and maintaining the rule of law.
