Research report on water wastage

LAHORE, Feb 13: A French company has started preparation of a research report on wastage of drinking water in the city which will be completed in six months. This was stated during a meeting held here on Monday to discuss the working of the Water and Sanitation Agency, with district nazim Mian Amer in the chair.

Participants in the meeting were informed that the company would study Wasa functioning and identify its strengths and weaknesses. It would also propose measures for decreasing the operational expenditure and electricity bills of Wasa. An office had been provided to the company at the Wasa headquarters.

The participants were further informed that Wasa engineers were assisting the French company in the preparation of its report. Localities of Gujarpura in north Lahore, Gowalmandi in central Lahore and Johar Town in southern Lahore had been selected for sample surveys. The nazim will supervise the research work.
