Gas victims laid to rest

SAHIWAL, Feb 13: Five people, including three brothers, who had lost their lives due to poisonous gas of a well on Sunday in Chak 103/7-R, were laid to rest here on Monday.

Their funeral prayers were attended by a large number of people, including provincial Agriculture Minister Muhammad Arshad Khan Lodhi and Tehsil Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Umar Ishaq.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the chief minister had not only offered his condolences but also promised financial help and jobs for the family members of the five victims.

Bilal Husain, Talha and Amjad (brothers), Sabir and Mubarik alias Waris had entered the well to remove the faulty motor of the disposal pump, but they died due to poisonous gas. —Correspondent
