RAHIM YAR KHAN, Feb 13: One person was killed while 28 others sustained injuries when a speeding bus overturned on Chowk Bahadarpur bypass, some 12kms from here on Monday.

The bus (LHO-6686) was heading towards Sukkur from Multan when the mishap happened. Consequently, cleaner Abid Husain of Shedani Sharif died on the spot while 28 others suffered injuries. They were admitted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital from where 21 of them were discharged after the first-aid treatment. Those kept for further treatment at the hospital were identified as Baz Khatoon, Muhammad Amjad, Allah Bakhsh, Abid, Muhammad Mohsin, Rafiq Ahmed and Ghulam Kazim. Sadar police have instituted a case against the absconding driver. —Correspondent
