KARACHI: PIA completes Haj operation

KARACHI, Feb 13: Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has successfully completed Haj operation for 2006. According to a press release, the PIA carried 125,000 Hajis back to Pakistan on 336 flights, 20 from Medina and 318 from Jeddah. The overall punctuality rate was 87 per cent, while the previous year’s punctuality rate was 81 per cent. During the post-Haj operation which was completed in 31 days, 37,000 Hajis were flown back to Karachi, 35,500 to Lahore, 27,250 to Islamabad, 16,000 to Peshawar and 9,250 to Quetta on 117, 76, 62, 57 and 24 flights, respectively.
