KARACHI: The fourth Pakistan Navy International Nautical Competition (INC) commenced at the Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA) on Tuesday.

The competition is being held from Tuesday to Friday. The commandant of the PNA, Commodore Muhammad Khalid, was the chief guest on the first day.

This year, the event will witness the highest level of participation, wherein teams from Azerbaijan, China, Indonesia, Italy, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Turkiye, and the host team from the PNA will contest for the coveted trophy.

The competition comprises sailing, swimming, lifesaving skills, and seamanship contests, which are aimed at preserving the age-old professional skills of a sailor and promoting healthy competition among the seafarers of various countries.

The Pakistan Navy has been hosting the INC biennially since 2015. The purpose of the competition is to promote goodwill among friendly countries. This event also provides a unique opportunity to develop the characteristics of good sportsmanship that build resilience, perseverance, teamwork, honour, character, kindness, and, above all, respect.
