The West Bank and Gaza Strip are separate Palestinian regions but both are illegally occupied by Israel.

While Gaza is completely blockaded from the rest of the world by Israel, the latter continues to expand illegal Israeli settlements systematically in the West Bank, displacing native Palestinians and demolishing their homes.

In 2007, an armed conflict between The Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and Hamas in Gaza led to the division of governance between the two with Hamas controlling Gaza and Fatah/PLO governing the West Bank.

Hamas does not operate in the West Bank.

Watch the video by AJ+ explaining why Palestinians are being attacked and killed in the West Bank while Israel has claimed to have a war with Hamas.
