Boy falls to death catching stray kite

LAHORE, Feb 11: A 13-year-old boy died after falling from the roof of his house in Nawan Kot on Saturday. Qasim fell while trying to catch a stray kite. He was rushed to the Lahore General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The body was handed over to the family without autopsy.

CIA: City Police Chief DIG Khwaja Khalid Farooq has directed the CIA to play an effective role in controlling crime.

Presiding over a meeting to review the progress of the organized crime wing and individual performance of police officers here on Saturday, the DIG directed the CIA SSP to evolve a comprehensive policy in this regard.

He said all the DSPs must analyze the crime situation in their divisions and evolve a strategy accordingly. The performance of all officers should be evaluated on a monthly basis, he added.

The DIG directed the CRO branch to complete its record about criminals and their whereabouts.

He also ordered to arrest proclaimed offenders at the earliest and improve patrolling at all city entry points. The SSP operations and investigation were also present.
