DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Feb 11: Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that Thursday’s blasts in Hangu are not a result of sectarianism but a conspiracy against Muslims.

Speaking at a ceremony here on Saturday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the Ummah would have to promote brotherhood and solidarity to foil such bids.

He said those involved in the blasts must be punished severely.

He lauded the NWFP government for taking steps to maintain law and order in the province and launching an investigation into the incident at High Court level.

The law and order situation was better in the NWFP than other provinces, he said.

He said steps were needed to highlight the protest against publication of blasphemous cartoons in some newspapers at international level.—Online
