KARACHI, Feb 11: The Aurat Foundation has urged the government to resolve issues being faced by women and formulate laws so that their rights are protected.

In a statement issued here in connection with the Women’s day on Saturday, the Aurat Foundation chief, Anis Haroon, regretted that the women were not being given rights guaranteed by the religion.

Ms Haroon said that whenever the women raised their voice for their rights, they were victimized in the name of socio-cultural traditions.

She said that with the passage of time the incidents of violence against women have increased in the country and the state organizations have failed to play their role in safeguarding the rights and providing justice to women.
