Moral Values
Zulfiqar Ali Meghani

The little book, which has even less than a hundred pages, talks of the importance of moral values, which, according to the author, are the building blocks of character, ideas, beliefs and attitudes. He has, basically, written the book to inspire the youth because he strongly feels that “youth hold the future of any nation and society and these core values help them bloom into morally strong and responsible individuals.”

There are four sections in the book. The first three focus on separate moral values. For example, section one is about ‘compassion’, section two is about ‘character’ and section three about ‘ethics’. The fourth section, on the other hand, is about ‘evils’ such as greed, envy, pride, etc., which one must avoid.

The book also has brief biographical sketches of great people such as Abdul Sattar Edhi, Bilquis Edhi, Akhtar Hameed Khan, Perween Rahman, Dr Ruth Pfau, Dr Adeeb Rizvi and Jamshed Nusserwanjee Mehta, whose illustrious lives can serve as inspiration for our youth.
