RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha expressed dissatisfaction over sanitation condition of Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) and directed the hospital administration to improve it.

During a visit to the hospital he asked the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to establish green areas in Benazir Bhutto Hospital.

He also reviewed the ongoing repair and beautification work in the hospital. He said that the construction and repair work should be completed as soon as possible. “PHA should immediately complete the work of lawns and green areas inside the hospital as soon as possible,” he said.

BBH Medical Superintendent Dr Tahir Rizvi, senior officials of the district administration, building department and PHA were also present on the occasion.

The commissioner reviewed the medical facilities in the hospital in detail. He visited various departments of the hospital including dengue ward, blood bank, triage room, emergency, OPD, surgical ward, male and female ward, children ward, medicine room.

He inquired from patients and their relatives about the treatment, the cleanliness situation, the condition of the washrooms and the supply of medicines.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chatha said that medical facilities would be ensured in the light of the orders of the Punjab government. Any kind of negligence in the provision of medical facilities will not be tolerated, he said.

“Medicines are being supplied to the patients from the pharmacy of the hospital,” he said.He directed that in any case the relatives of the patients should not be sent out to buy medicines. He said that people from far and wide come for treatment to the hospital.
