TAXILA: In an unending series of crimes, two persons were shot and injured during a robbery while multiple people were looted at gunpoint in various parts of the city on Sunday, police sources said.

In the first incident, a teenager was shot for putting up resistance against robbers in the limits of the Taxila police station.

According to police sources, 16-year-old Shakir Ali was going to his house in Banni Mohallah when two armed men robbed him. When he resisted, the armed persons shot him and fled away. The injured person was shifted to a local hospital in critical condition.

In another incident, two motorcyclists shot and injured a tandoorwala for putting up resistance near a new city area within the limits of Wah Saddar police station. The victim reported to the police that two men entered his shop and snatched money at gunpoint. When he resisted, they shot him and escaped with cash.

Separately, two armed men looted three personsin broad daylight in Dhoke Gujran within the jurisdiction of Wah Saddar police station.

The robbers were on foot when they snatched mobile phones, cash amounting to Rs300,000 and a motorcycle from three people.

Furthermore, two motorcycle riders, equipped with pistols, looted a sales van of a local food item supply company on G.T. Road near Wah Garden Bridge and deprived the driver, Saqib Iqbal, of Rs250,000 and two mobile phones.

In another incident, two robbers mugged customers and the staff of a hotel located on G.T. Road near the museum by-pass within the limits of Taxila police station.

As per police sources, two men on a motorcycle came to a hotel in the guise of customers and took all the people present in the hotel, mostly truck drivers, at gunpoint.

Later, they searched all the people present there and fled with looted items, including 10 mobile phones and cash amounting to over Rs500,000.
