KARACHI, Oct 16: Funland at Clifton will witness the biggest ever gathering of over 4000 special children on Wednesday. The event will start at 10 a.m.

Syed Arshad Ali, chairman Pakistan Hotels Association, noted artist and social worker Jimmy Engineer and

Ilyas Kushtiwala, owner of Jabees Hotel which manages Funland, will play hosts to some 4500 special children, drawing from some 24 organisations.

This get-together of special chidlren is a follow up to the Food for Special Children Programme launched by Jimmy Engineer.

Jimmy Engineer thanked the Pakistan Hotels Association for their support to the cause of special children.

Syed Arshad Ali said the ‘fun’ for special children was being organised on the International Cane Safety Day so as to motivate others.

The chairman PHA informed that on the occasion Jimmy would also lead a walk of special children within Funland. He said this walk was being held at the request of blind children who were entertained earlier at Village Restaurant and Hotel Jabees.

Jimmy Engineer told journalists that in this programme, and also in future, there would be no chief guest. Chidlren would themselves be the chief guests.

Arshad said that such programmes would also be organised in Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad. He said that international organisations too would be invited to join the programmes.

Jimmy said that a programme for old persons would also be organised soon in Karachi.

Singer Farzana Naz will perform for special children on the occasion free of charge. Puppet shows, clowns and music would be additional items of entertainment.—APP
