Zuljinah procession taken out

ISLAMABAD, Feb 8: Thousands of mourners participated in the 9th Muharram procession held to pay homage to the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) at Karbala. The procession started from the Imambargah G-6/2 and after passing through Lal Quarters and Melody ended at its starting point.

Camps had been set up at different places where free food, drinks and other refreshments were provided to the mourners.

Strict security arrangements had been made on the occasion. A large contingent of police was deployed on the route while a number of personnel had taken positions on rooftop of buildings.

Some mourners were beating their chests while many were flagellating themselves.

Muharram 10 procession will be brought out on Thursday in Rawalpindi.
