HANGZHOU: Pakistani karateka Fakhar-un-Nisa was blown away by eventual gold medallist Li Qiaoqiao of China in the last-16 round of the women’s kumite 68kg event at the Asian Games on Thursday.

Li won 5-0 against Fakhar-un-Nisa, executing a Yuko on 39 seconds before getting an ippon on 53 seconds, and went on to beat Laura Alikul of Kazakhstan 4-0 in the final.

Fakhar-un-Nisa fought closely in the first round of her repechage bout with Chinese Taipei’s Jou Chao but lost 2-3.

In weightlifting, Pakistan’s Usman Amjad Rathore finished last in Group ‘B’ of the men’s 109kg competition. Hqaving lifted 130kg in the snatch, his clean and jerk of 176kg gave him a total of 306kg.
