DELAYED RESULT

DELAYED RESULT: The provincial chapter of Pakistan Post in Sindh had conducted examinations in February this year for the post of assistant superintendent through the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE). More than six months have passed, but the waiting period for the candidates has not come to an end. The fate of many a candidate is hanging in the balance. This is a tale of apathy and misery.

ONLINE FRAUDSTERS: With the rapidly increasing trend of online preparatory classes for competitive examinations, such as those for the Central Superior Services (CSS), online scams have been noticed, too. Many instructors in such preparatory classes demand fee in advance, and once the candidates make the transaction, the instructors either seem least interested in taking proper classes or vanish from the scene altogether after minting money. The aspirants need to be conscious of such fraudsters.

GAS CRISIS: The loadshedding of natural gas in Karachi has been increased to up to 10 hours a day, leaving citizens perplexed about how and when to perform their household chores. In some areas, such as Mehmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, North Karachi Sector 11, New Karachi, Federal B Area and Buffer Zone, gas is supplied from midnight to 11am. The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) should do something about it.

LOOKING FOR SIGNALS: Recently, I visited Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) during vacations, and it was disheartening to see residents walk miles in search of stronger cellular signals to continue using the internet services. The entire region has been devoid of reliable internet facilities. The relevant authorities should look into the issue and improve cellular services in GB.
