ISLAMABAD: A suspect was killed and three others were injured during different “encounters”, police said on Monday.

In the first incident, a suspect was killed during an encounter in Nilore, while two of his accomplices managed to flee.

According to police, three motorcycle riders appeared at a police pickup set up for checking in Tumair area in Nilore.

On suspicion, the police signalled the motorcyclists to stop, but the riders opened firing on them.

Fortunately, the police team remained unhurt.

During the exchange of fire, one of the suspects was killed by the firing of his own accomplices, who later escaped from the spot, the police claimed.

In another incident, three suspects were wounded during an encounter in Sohan.

Upon receiving information about the hideout of a robbers at Korang Nullah, a police team was constituted, which raided the hideout and spotted some activity in the bushes inside the nullah.

A sub-inspector called out the suspects to identify themselves but around four to five people started firing at the police.

The police remained safe while the suspects ran towards the other side of the nullah while firing at the police team.

Later, the police found three suspects injured.

As per information, the injured were identified as natives of Jalalabad and Kabul in Afghanistan.

The police also recovered weapons from them and registered a case with Khanna police station.

A police official on platform X said the dacoits were involved in high-profile criminal cases registered in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The gang was also involved in the killing of a sessions judge in Rawalpindi, the police official claimed.
