HARIPUR, Feb 7: Former foreign minister and Senior Vice-President of the Pakistan Muslim League Gohar Ayub Khan has got his name deleted from the voters’ list of his constituency here and registered himself in Islamabad, sources told Dawn on Tuesday.

The PML leader is reportedly a prospective candidate for the coming Senate election on the party ticket from Islamabad.

The office of the assistant election commissioner, Haripur, confirmed deletion of Mr Ayub’s name from the voters’ list of his village.

Sources said the former minister had requested the Election Commission to remove his name from the list through a letter, without citing a reason.

Mr Ayub said he was going to get himself registered in Islamabad.
