RAWALPINDI: A joint Task Force of the district administration, the local police and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) conducted a grand operation against 16 illegal housing schemes. Besides, demolishing their main entrances, guard rooms, boundary walls, dividers and road infrastructure.

According to the RDA spokesman, the operation was conducted in Mouzas Adhwal, Cighu, Chak Cighu, Bhal, Titral, Hoon, Gojra Chak, Ralla, Ralla Gujra, Banda,Wariyam Malokra, Gurha Bertha, Kuri Khuda Bakhsh and Bagga Sheikhan.

He further stated that the illegal housing schemes are Hoon Farm, Theme Park, Cighu Farm House, Green Hawks / Flaura Farms, Freedom Smart Home, Islamabad Forms Phase-I/II, Shahzain Town, Atlantic City, Attar Farms, Project of BSM Developers, Green View, Lake View City / Lake Garden Green Farm House, Green Stone and Gulberg Garden in Rawat Rawalpindi.

The RDA Director General (DG) Saif Anwar Jappa said that on the complaints of the general public, grand operations are being conducted to stop the fraudulent activities of illegal housing schemes and looting of the citizens.

Mr Jappa added that the owners of the housing schemes who have completed the documentation have been given the possession of the land. The DG told that the RDA has been issuing press releases from time to time for the information of the general public.

“The citizens should not invest in illegal housing schemes and are requested to visit the website of the RDA,www.rda.gop.pk. Also, they are advised to buy and sell only from approved housing schemes”, Mr Jappa said.

He further articulated that notices had been issued in the past to the owners and sponsors of the above mentioned illegal housing schemes. Also, the FIRs were lodged to stop illegal advertisements, bookings and development.

He mentioned that the owners of these properties were running illegal booking offices for their illegal housing schemes in violation of the rules.
