Jacobabad council approves budget

JACOBABAD, Feb 6: The Jacobabad district council on Monday passed its annual budget of Rs1.2 billion for 2005-06. District Nazim Begum Saeeda Soomro presented the budget at the district council session.

Begum Soomro said that promises made during the local body elections would be fulfilled.

She said the people of the district showed confidence in her by selecting her as the nazim and she would try her best to come up to expectations. She said that ongoing development schemes would be completed first before start of new schemes.

The house also passed a resolution, presented by UC Nazim Israr Jakhrani, against custodial death of Abdul Ghaffar Shaikh.
