KARACHI, Feb 6: The annual arts exhibition organized by the fine arts department of the Defence Authority Degree College was inaugurated by Begum Rukhshana Maqsood, wife of the DHA administrator, at the institution’s premises here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that art was the real expression of life and a symbol of creativity and beauty. She emphasized that art should be used as a powerful media for the betterment of the society.

The administrator of the DHA Brig Maqsood Hussain, also present on the occasion, appreciated the talent and skills of the young student artists of the college and advised them to employ their skills dexterously for inculcating intricate human values such as patience, love and mutual respect.

Principal, Captain Ahmed Zaheer said that the college was organizing fine arts classes at the graduation level on a non-commercial basis. Ms Mujahida Tatheer, the head of fine arts department, described art as the true reflection of human sentiment. She highlighted the importance of fine arts as a source of enlightenment in life and delineated the aim and scope of the exhibition.—APP
