ISLAMABAD: Lohi Bher police on Sunday arrested 22 suspects and recovered Sheesha, hookah and flavours from their possession during a crackdown against illegal Sheesha cafes, a public relations officer said.

Following directions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, the police have started a crackdown against criminal parties to save precious lives and property of citizens.

He also said police have intensified stern measures against illegal Sheesha centres to eliminate this menace from the city and special efforts were being made to take action against such activities.

“The safety of lives and property of citizens is the prime responsibility of Islamabad capital police. Citizens are also requested to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police stations or at emergency helpline Pucar-15,” he said.

Separately, police have arrested 25 absconders involved in heinous crimes during the last week.

According to public relations officer, Kohsar, Golra, Tarnol, Secretariat, Bhara Kahu, Khanna and Phulgran police station teams have arrested 25 absconders involved in abhorrent crimes during the last week.
