NAROWAL: A girl student allegedly committed suicide after being dejected over her low score in the 9th class examination at Baluchak Sahuwala in Sambarial tehsil, Sialkot district.

According to police, Ayesha Liaqat, (15), daughter of a labourer Liaquat Ali Cheema, had appeared in her 9th class examination held by Gujranwala Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE).

On Tuesday, the exam results were announced and Ayesha got lower marks than she was expecting to score.

Mohsin, a close relative of the deceased girl said Ayesha’s marks were lower than her cousin’s, which depressed her and she committed suicide by hanging herself with a rope.

The spokesperson for district police said the police had reached the spot on being informed of the incident. However, he said, the family of the girl refused legal action.
