TOBA TEK SINGH: The Faisalabad Civil Lines police arrested four boys on Tuesday who had disguised themselves as girls by wearing veils and were harassing women in Jinnah Garden.

According to an FIR registered under sections 354, 509 and 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code, complainant Sub-Inspector Akhtar Pervaiz stated that women had complained to the police about four people dressed in black veils who were bothering them.

When the police uncovered their faces, they were identified as Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Suleman, Muhammad Hussain and Muhammad Talha.

BOOKED: After Toba Tek Singh police, cases have been registered against dozens of the PTI workers at Gojra, Kamalia and Pirmahal for blocking roads by taking out rallies on the Independence Day.

Gojra police, in their first information report (FIR), said Usama Hamza, the PTI aspirant for NA-111, the son of late Senator M Hamza, and Asif Ihsan, the son of former late MPA Ihsanul Haq Gujjar, led the rally along with 10 nominated and 25 unidentified people and blocked the traffic at the Bank Chowk on the Independence Day.

Kamalia police registered an FIR against PTI leader Rai Ilyas for leading 10 nominated and 15 unidentified people in a procession and blocking the traffic in Iqbal Bazaar.

Pirmahal police registered a case, saying that former president of the Kamalia Tehsil Bar Association, Abid Ali Chaudhry, led a rally of four nominated and 11 unidentified people and blocked traffic at Allah Hu Chowk on the Faisalabad-Multan Road.

Police in all the three cities are reportedly conducting raids to arrest the persons nominated in the FIRs.

Meanwhile, Samundri PTI leader Khalid Mahmood Gill was produced by the police before Judicial Magistrate Azam Khan for physical remand; however, more than one dozen lawyers appeared before the court.

They claimed in their arguments that he had been arrested without any justification over which court ordered the police to release Gill.

ASSAULT: A teenage boy allegedly assaulted a minor boy on Monday night in Qaim Bharwana in Shorkot tehsil.

The Waryamwala police said the victim was asleep in his under-construction house near the Trimmu Head Sidhnai link canal when the assailant attacked him.

The police have arrested the accused.

SHINE VILLAGE: In Faisalabad district, the implementation of the “Now Villages Will Shine” programme initiated by the Punjab caretaker government has commenced.

Under the pilot project, Chak 80-JB was selected in the first phase.

Faisalabad DC Ali Annan Qamar inaugurated the programme on Tuesday by overseeing the removal of garbage piles from the village.

He said the initiative would transform the fortunes of villages, and the cooperation of villagers was crucial for its success. He said the caretaker chief minister had initially allocated a budget of Rs8 billion for the programme.

AWARD: The “Hilal-Imtiaz” Pakistan Civil Award has been bestowed upon UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan for his outstanding contributions to the field of education.

The investiture ceremony, scheduled for Pakistan Day on March 23, 2024, will honour Dr Iqrar’s achievements.

A UAF spokesperson announced on Tuesday that Dr Iqrar has had a distinguished and diverse career in education, research and administration.
